How we work

Research, not hype

We compile specs from manufacturer pages and documentation and link every source. We have not bench-tested these products and we say so.

No invented numbers

No made-up ratings, runtimes, testimonials or prices. If a spec could not be verified, we leave it out or flag it.

Outage-first

We judge gear by what matters in a blackout: usable watt-hours, surge headroom, recharge options, weight and warranty.

Clear about money

Why bother?

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, U.S. electricity customers averaged about 11 hours of interruptions in 2024, driven mostly by major hurricanes, and interruptions not tied to major events routinely average about two hours per year (EIA, Dec 2025). Most outages are short — which is exactly the job a portable battery does well.
